Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Alternative Trailers
Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer and I wanted to write a post about it but I didn’t know what. It didn’t give me that burst of childhood glee that the first trailer did, although I love it, and I didn’t think that people wanted another trailer breakdown article of which thousands have already been written. Then Twitter came to the rescue with a couple of tweets from SFX Magazine and One Perfect Shot in that order. Find out what they were below the break.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens Supercut Trailer
Whatever you think of the supercut, it is an amazing piece of editing which must have taken a long time to get right. What makes this even impressive is that the three trailers used are dramatically different moods. As I said back in December last year, the first trailer has almost horror feel about it, the second trailer is much more an action trailer as far as I can see while the third is a bit more melancholy. With this in mind, I don’t think they quiet merge together into a seamless three and a half-minute trailer but it almost manages it.
The Music Only Trailer
As I said above, I love the third trailer but Tim Gonzales realised that it could be made even better, even more epic by removing the dialogue. As One Perfect Shot says:
By isolating the music, those moments [shown in the trailers] become bigger, more touching, even poetic.
